Sanjay Dutt and Bunty Walia come together to make a period flick
| By Bollywood Hungama News Network Buddies Sanjay Dutt and Bunty Walia are all set to make a period film which is based on the battle of Saragarhi. For the uninitiated, the Battle of Saragarhi was fought in the North West Frontier Province during September of 1897 between 21 Sikhs of a Sikh regiment (defending an Army post) and 10000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesman. The film titled 21 Battle of Saragarhi- From Ashes to Glory will be made under the banner of Sanjay Dutt Productions and GS Entertainment. Rohit Jugraj (who earlier directed James and Superstar) will direct this film. As for the Deadly Dutt, he will not only be co-producing the film but will also play the important role of Havaldar Ishar Singh who led the Sikh onslaught in the battle. Nearly 20 other actors are yet to be signed for this period flick. To leave no stone unturned in representing historic facts and events accurately, Sanjay Dutt along with Bunty Walia and director Rohit Jugraj even made a trip to the capital to meet I&B Minister Priyaranjan Das Munshi and Defence Minister A.K. Antony. This magnum-opus will have some high end special effects and by the looks of it this historical flick indeed promises to be a biggie. |
