Sameera Reddy too curvy for item song?
By Hindustan Times
Mumbai, Feb. 6 -- Sameera Reddy has earned a reputation as a talented dancer, but Tezz filmmakers may not think that's good enough. Apparently, they are looking for a slimmer girl to do the item number in the Ajay Devgn-Anil Kapoor starrer, though Sameera wanted to be the only girl in the song.
"Though makers are aware of Sameera's dancing abilities, they plan to rope in another girl because the number has a lot of sultry moves, which they feel would be accentuated by the presence of a slimmer actor. Also, since Sameera has an action avatar, it would look odd if she does a hot item number," says a close associate in the film's unit.
Ask producer Ratan Jain, and he says, "I don't know if it can be called an item number, but there's certainly a special song, which is yet to be shot. We are already in talks with someone, but I can't reveal the identity right now. Once things are finalised, we will reveal the actor's name."
Jain, on his part, maintains that Sameera will still be a part of the song. "Though we need another girl for the performance, Sameera stars in the film and so she has to be included in the sequence." The Priyadarshan-directed action thriller releases on April 27. Ask Jain if he is looking for a slimmer girl, as compared to Sameera, and he denies it saying, "No, it's not true. We are in talks with certain people, though if I reveal the name, they will feel that I am using it for publicity."
In the film, Sameera will be seen riding fast bikes and performing adventurous stunts designed by Hollywood duo Gareth Milne (Bourne Ultimatum, 2007) and Peter Pedrero (Bourne Series).
