Mumbai, July 27 -- After Chillar Party, Salman Khan is set to don the producer's hat once again. And none other than the actor's father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, will return to the creative world of film writing for the sequel to the children's film.
"Salim saab has been very supportive. In fact, he was the one who encouraged us during the making of Chillar Party too," says the film's co-director Vikas Bahl. "This time around, we will consult with him on the screenplay and he will be our sounding board when it comes to screenwriting."
Salim of the legendary Salim-Javed (Javed Akhtar) duo scripted numerous blockbusters like Zanjeer (1973), Deewar (1975), Sholay (1975), Don (1978) and Shaan among others.
But for the last two decades, the writer has stayed away from film writing. However, he contends that he is always available to "help his sons out", including Arbaaz and Sohail Khan. "I don't work on films any longer, but whenever my sons need me, I'm always ready to help them," Khan Sr says. Bahl contends that they already have two stories ready with them for the Chillar Party sequel. "But I don't want to confirm anything till the stories have been turned into screenplays. We are still working on them," says Bahl, who also has two other stories, besides Chillar Party, which he is working on. "I'm still deciding which one to take up next. But whenever we work on the sequel, we will try and get as much of Salman's involvement as possible."
Bahl also wants to retain the kids from the original film: "But by the time the film goes on the floors, we will need to see if the kids have outgrown their roles or not."
