Sajid Khan is gearing up for a joint narration with the entire cast of Housefull 2 before the film goes on the floors, end of May. “There are around 20 principal characters and all of them will sit together for a script reading. They can raise questions, offer their insights and inputs,” says the actor-director, pointing out that he had spent a day with the team doing the same before the Housefull climax was shot.

The sequel returns with Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh and new entrants, John Abraham and Rahul Khanna. Asin and Jacqueline Fernandez are paired with Akshay and John. Riteish and Rahul’s co-stars are yet to be finalised. The film also has Randhir and Rishi Kapoor playing brothers and Mithun Chakraborty.

Three’s company “Whatever I am today is because of my three demi Gods— Rajnikanth, Mithunda and Jeetuji (Jeetendra). God forbid, if I were to die after Housefull 2, I’d die happy because I got a chance to work with my childhood idol. Mithunda is my John Travolta,” says Sajid KhanSajid.

He also promises a new avatar for John Abraham, who’s doing what no Hindi film hero has done before. Another ‘surprise package’ is Rahul Khanna, who Khan insists will be back in a big way as a Bollywood mainstream actor.

Ritiesh and Akshay will also be seen in ‘different’ roles. “For me Akshay is the only superstar who made you believe that he was the world’s unluckiest man in Housefull. Early this year he silenced sceptics by hosting an award’s show with me. He’s a man of many talents and in Housefull 2, you’ll see him doing some daredevil stunts and hand fights. I’m a huge action movie buff and this is my chance to prove that I can go beyond drama, romance and comedy,” asserts Sajid.

You wonder about the absence of Arshad Warsi, and Sajid points out that he got married in Part 1. “Besides, Housefull 2 is not a sequel, it’s a part of a hit series like Lage Raho Munnabhai. We don’t need to go with the same cast or story,” he says.

Sajid hopes to wrap up the film by November and will be shooting in places like England, Thailand, Argentina and Hong Kong. “What I like best about James Bond movies is that you’re transported to different countries with a blink of the eye. This script also allows me to travel around the world,” he adds.
