Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster's director makes another gangster flick!

With Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster attaining the hit status earlier this year, director Tigmanshu Dhulia is going back to the interiors of Uttar Pradesh (UP) with his next film, Valmiki Ki Bandook.

But this time around, he is donning the hat of a creative producer. Since the story was his assistant Karan Butani’s idea, Dhulia has decided to step back and allow him to direct it.

“I read Karan’s script while he was working with me on Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster. I really liked it and agreed to be the creative producer on the film,” Dhulia explains, adding, “The script is ready. Now we we’ll move on to casting.”

Valmiki Ki Bandook captures the predominant gun culture of UP, reveals Karan. “It’s actually a satire,” he says, adding, “In UP, it’s believed that if you have a double-barrelled gun, then you are a man. Tigmanshu and I are writing the script together,” says Karan, who has been associated with Dhulia since the post production of latter’s Paan Singh Tomar.

The makers of the film are planning to take it on the floors by March next year. “In January, we will start the pre-production,” says Karan, who plans to shoot the film entirely on real locations. “I will be shooting in Chambal, where this custom is usually practiced,” says Karan
