Riteish Deshmukh includes Marathi in Kya Superkool...

By Hindustan Times

Riteish Deshmukh is proud to be Maharastrian and has shown his love for his home state in his latest film. When the Kya Superkool Hai Hum makers were working on a new version of Shilpa Shetty’s fa.mous item number ‘Main aayi hoon UP, Bihar lootne’, Riteish asked Balaji Motion Pictures to extend
the song to incorporate Maharashtra in it.

“Riteish was very excited about the song from the beginning. He spontaneously decided that Maharashtra should also be part of the new song,” says an insider from the film’s unit. To ensure the authenticity of the song, Riteish even turned singer (for the first time) and also wrote the Marathi lyrics for it.

“Being a true son of the soil, he sat with the composers, the Meet brothers Anjaan-Ankit, and worked on the Marathi part of the song himself. After Daler Mehendi and Sukhwinder Singh completed the track, he took over the Marathi portion,” says the insider. As a result, the original song from Shool (1999) has been reworked quite a bit.

“When Riteish mentioned it to Balaji, everyone liked the idea, considering that it only broadened the appeal of the song. And once it comes out, we are sure audiences will love it,” adds the insider. When contacted, Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures confirms, “The UP-Bihar track shows us a new dimension of Riteish. He has done a terrific job in bringing the track from UP and Bihar to Maharashtra. We have a sure-shot chartbuster on our hands.”
