Release dates go topsy-turvy!
| By Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama News Network The release dates have gone topsy-turvy. Lots and lots of changes. Have a look... With HORN OK PLEASSSS shifting to a new date [January 9], as many as 6 medium-budget / low-cost films will vie for audience attention next week [December 5]: MAHARATHI, DIL KABADDI, KHALLBALLI - FUN UNLIMITED, OH, MY GOD!!, MEERABAI NOT OUT and KAASHH... MERE HOTE. Whew! The remaining weeks of December will be dominated by SRK [RAB NE BANA DI JODI], Akshay [JUMBO] and Aamir [GHAJINI]. It can’t get bigger than that! The Republic Day weekend [January 23, 2009] has witnessed some changes too. Initially, SHORTKUT and RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES were scheduled to hit the screens on this date. But SHORTKUT has been pushed ahead; it will now open on March 6. Since Studio 18 is distributing both GHAJINI and SHORTKUT, it was decided to give ample space between the two biggies, so that the distributors get ample time to market the two films. With SHORTKUT getting shifted to March 6, two medium-budget fares have announced January 23 as the release date: ALOO CHAAT and FIRAAQ. Meaning, as of today, RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES, ALOO CHAAT and FIRAAQ are confirmed for Republic Day weekend. There was speculation that BILLOO BARBER and DELHI 6 would arrive on the same date, in February. Not true! BILLOO BARBER is confirmed for February 13, while DELHI 6 is finally confirmed for February 20. Meanwhile, SHORTKUT, which is now confirmed for March 6, will face opposition from Vishal Bhardwaj's Shahid - Priyanka starrer KAMINEY on the same date. Bookmark/Search this post with: |
