Mumbai, April 1 -- Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak, who have been friends for 14 years and have worked together across mediums like films, television, theatre and ads, are teaming up once again. This time the duo is doing an animation voiceover for the pair Miko and Pedro in the dubbed version of Hollywood love story Rio. If that's not all, they will also be travelling together to UK with Atul Kumar's play The Blue Mug later this year.
Excited about working on an animation film, Ranvir reveals he has been a huge animation fan but rues about the sorry state of animation films in our country. "When I was approached to dub for the film, I jumped on it."
As for touring for the play abroad, Ranvir says, "We had taken the play to US last year and we will be going to three cities in UK over a span of two weeks in July. But before that, we will also tour some smaller towns in India."
While the other characters in the play continue to be played by Sheba Chadha, Munish Bhardwaj and Rajat Kapoor, Ranvir's wife actor Konkana Sen Sharma won't be a part of this tour as she recently delivered their baby. Says Ranvir, "Konkana will not be able to do this tour and Shipra Singh will take her place. We are extremely happy about our baby and are extremely grateful that everything is fine. We are still settling down to the new routine."
However, he is a bit saddened about the deferred release of four films- Amit Saxena's Tina Ki Chabi, Saurabh Shukla's I am 24, Navneet Saini's Bankok Blues and Rajat Kapoor's Fatso - that he has already shot for, Ranvir says, "Its very frustrating. As an actor you can only wait as to when the film will release. It's always up to the market forces and you have no control over it."
