He ventured into Bollywood by playing second fiddle in films such as Action Replayy (2010), Toss: A Flip of Destiny (2009), and London Dreams (2009). The popular TV anchor, Rannvijay Singh, however, is now all excited about his upcoming film Mod, which is his first film as a solo
Contrary to his stud biker boy image, thanks to his rugged looks, the 28-year-old, who shot to fame with MTV Roadies, will be seen playing a sweet, geeky guy’s role in Nagesh Kukunoor’s film. Read on as Singha, who was recently linked to fellow VJ Anusha Dandekar, gets chatty with us about his personal and professional life and much more.
I’ve mix emotion about the film right now... There is stress, tension, and a lot of excitement because this is the first time I am playing a lead role. It was challenging as I had to slip into someone else’s shoe while acting unlike anchoring which requires me to be just myself.
On his character
Unlike my image of a rock-biker-stud and daredevil, I will be seen in a sweet, geeky role in the film. It is Nagesh Kukunoor’s first love story. My character Andy is a quirky, sensitive, loud, intense, and romantic person with a lot of shades, which unfolds as the story moves forward.
On Nagesh Kukunoor
He is a hard task master. To be honest, It is easier to work with Raghu and Rajiv on Roadies than with Kukunoor. But the fact is when he is not shooting, he is quite chilled out and fun to be with. He gives great care to each and every details.
I love this city. I have great memories as I did my schooling from Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and graduation from Hans Raj College, Delhi University. Moreover, I have many great friends here so, it’s always fun to be in the city.
On Roadies 9
I am very excited about the upcoming ninth season of Roadies, which will take place in the US this time. One can expect lots of fun and unexpected twists and turns in the show. I enjoy working in television as the small screen gave me my recognition.
I am single since last two years. Having said that, I am ready to mingle, but due to my super hectic and chock-a- block work schedules, be it for my television shows or films, I just don’t have any time for love.
