Mumbai, April 6 -- Ranbir Kapoor is surprised by reports that his friendship with Imran Khan has gone sour. He dismissed them as "baseless rumours" and says it hasn't "affected our friendship". He says, "We both know the truth and had a good laugh over them."

Kapoor was in the US for over two months, shooting for Siddharth Anand's Anjana Anjani with Priyanka Chopra. He'll be leaving soon for Bangkok for the next schedule. What's happening to the film they were to produce jointly. He retorts, " "Imran is a dear friend and a talented actor. We were thinking of doing a movie together but we may not produce it jointly. We've got a lot of offers but have still to find the right subject. I'd love to work with Imran, I hope it happens soon."

He's in regular touch with his Khan dost. And a lot of other gen next buddies too. "Pratik (Pratik Babbar), Shahid (Shahid Kapoor), Harman (Harman Baweja), Deepika (Deepika Padukone), Sonam (Sonam Kapoor) Genelia (Genelia D'Souza) and Anushka (Anushka Sharma), there's a lot of positivity among all of us and no room for negativity at all. We message when someone's film is releasing to show our appreciation for a good performance," he enthuses. Kapoor dismisses any suggestions of rivalry but admits to healthy competition. "If someone performs well, even if you wish you had got the same opportunity, you congratulate the other guy on a job well done," he laughs. He adds, "It's one way to push the envelop, to improve as an actor and mature as a person."
