Ace Bollywood director of the Munnabhai series, Rajkumar Hirani, was awarded the Teacher’s Achievement Award in the ‘Entertainment Category’ at a star studded function held over the weekend in Mumbai. The event saw a lot of bigwigs from the film, corporate, sports and communication fraternity in attendance.

While accepting the award, Hirani thanked the jury and teachers. In his eternal tongue-in-cheek humorous style, he also said that he was scared now that post Munnabhai, he had to live up to the expectations of people in all his future projects.

For the uninitiated, the Teacher's Achievement Awards has been recognizing achievers in diverse categories such as photography, science, theatre and the creative and performing arts, since its inception in 2001.

The winners in the other categories this year included Chanda Kochar (Business ), Mahesh Dattani( Theatre & Communication ), Manavjit Singh Sandhu (Sports) and K.V. Kamath, who was honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award.
