Rabbi Shergill: Back again with a bang!
By Hindustan Times
New Delhi, July 15 -- He mesmerised everyone with his lilting melodies and rock riffs. Now the 'Bulla ki jaana...' singer, Rabbi Shergill, is back again with his third offering. "I just wrapped up the album. This time, I have played a more pro-active role by producing the songs myself too," says Rabbi, who recently got back from US, where the album was mixed by award-winning mix engineer Gustavo Celis, who has worked with Shakira, Beyonce and Ricky Martin.
"Working with people like him is a privilege and gives one an opportunity to learn. It expands our horizons in terms of knowledge," says Shergill. Tentatively titled Cabaret Weimar, the new album features nine songs. "The title is inspired by the Weimar culture in Germany that existed in the period before Hitler rose to power. It was a time when the country saw a crazy explosion of music, art, science and literature. The album features a song with the same title, which is a social sarcasm and takes a cynical view of things," explains Rabbi.
If given a chance, the singer is not averse to working on interesting projects in Bollywood. "A lot has changed in the industry and I would love to work with the new bunch of talented composers who are pioneering the new rush," he says.
