Mumbai, March 19 -- Recently, a news report claimed that Priyanka Chopra will perform at the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 2. Incidentally, this year, the ceremony is being organised by Red Chillies Entertainment, which is owned by Shah Rukh Khan, the co-owner of the IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders.
But now, we have learnt that Priyanka will not even be in the country around that time. "How will she perform at the opening ceremony if she isn't going to be in India? She had already made a commitment; she needs to be in the US regarding some work for her upcoming album. She is quite amused with her name being included in the list of performers at the opening event," says an insider close to the actor.
Although Priyanka could not be reached for a comment, her spokesperson confirms the news, saying, "Priyanka had committed to shoot the music video for the second song from her album. The shoot is in Miami, post which she will be attending an awards event in Vancouver."
