Mumbai, March 25 -- She might be hogging the limelight with her newly released item song, 'Babli badmaash' from Shootout At Wadala, but Priyanka Chopra admits that it took her a long time to agree to do it.

Apparently, it was no cakewalk for producer Ekta Kapoor to get the actor on board.

"Ekta is a friend and we always wanted to work with each other. She was very insistent that I do this song. It took her over six months to convince me. I liked the song and thought, let's do something new. That's how I featured in it," says Priyanka, who is also playing the female lead opposite Imran Khan in Ekta's next production, Milan Talkies. The film will be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Priyanka also explains why she turned down the offer of singing the song. "I am waiting for my album to come up. Till then I can't (sing other songs). It's not a contractual thing but it's better for the album," says the actor, who is currently shooting for Yash Raj Films' Gunday and Apoorva Lakhia's Zanjeer remake.
