Preeti Desai is in the news even before her debut film, Shor In The City is out. First, for approaching the makers to tone down her “steamy scenes” with American-Asian co-actor Sendhil Ramamurthy, and then for her alleged engagement with boyfriend Abhay Deol.
Preeti refused to answer any questions related to Deol, and is taken aback over reports suggesting she got cold feet over certain scenes in Ekta Kapoor’s black comedy.
“The story is completely fabricated. I have no problems with those intimate moments with Sendhil and don’t want them snippet out,” asserts Desai, who plays a model from Mumbai who takes Sendhil around the city.
Sendhil’s passionate scenes with co-star Dania Ramirez in Season Three of the TV show Heroes has also attracted a lot of media attention. However, Preeti is confident that their lovemaking scenes in Shor... will not give the censors any reason to object.“The scenes have been aesthetically shot and are not over-the-top in any way,” reasons the actor, who has won the title of Miss Great Britain. “I’m new to the Bollywood and still getting used to such concorted reports. Friends tell me that its a part-and-parcel of the package. So trying not to freak out,” says Preeti.
Shor... releases on April 28. Besides Desai, Tusshar Kapoor, Alok Chaturvedi, Sudhir Chowdhary, Pitabash Tripathy, Nikhil Dwivedi and Radhika Apte are also part of the three-story narrative, of which two are in Hindi and one, featuring Preeti and Sendhil, in English.
