NEW DELHI, Jan. 22 -- Hollywood celebrity, philanthropist and talk show host Oprah Winfrey, made a pit stop at fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee's store in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Winfrey bought a beautiful net silk sari from the designer who was intimated about the celeb's stop over, but still had his doubts given Winfrey's jam-packed schedule. Mukherjee says, "She first saw my work when actor Aishwarya Rai wore my sari on her show. Oprah quite liked the sari and had asked Aishwarya about the designer."

Winfrey bought a Sabyasachi sari for her meeting with the Prince and Princess at City Palace, Jaipur over the weekend. "I picked apple green colour as it is Oprah's favourite. The sari has revived textiles from all over the country, with tone-on-tone embroidery and a black zardozi border. Also, I have given her a Kanthawork blouse in black colour."

Apart from Winfrey, her executives also picked up a lot of Indian clothes. They indulged in Indian bangle sets, headbands, muslin scarves and potli bags. The 57-year-old, who is on her first visit to the country, also bought tunics and kurtis in khadi from the designer. "Oprah was comfortable in a sari. We showed her and her team how it is is draped. Though she will be wearing her personal jewellery with it, I have also given her a matching black purse." adds Mukherjee A big fan of Winfrey himself, the designer says that she has a stunning personality and can wear anything and make it look beautiful. "While at the store, one of our buyers also present there was so overwhelmed by her presence, that she broke down into tears", he says.
