Mumbai, July 23 (IANS) Akshay Kumar's fans have now more reasons to

rejoice, particularly those staying abroad - very soon the actor will

have his own official interactive website which will give his admirers

an opportunity to talk to him directly.

With films like "Waqt - Race Against Time", "Bewafaa", "Garam

Masala" and "Phir Hera Pheri" consistently featuring in the British top

10, Akshay's fan base in the overseas market is on the upswing.

A team led by Alnoor Merchant, who is the director of Movies

Talkies, is working on the modalities of the website. Movies Talkies

had earlier been associated with "Rang De Basanti", "Bend It Like

Beckham". Their most recent work is Karan Johar's "Kabhi Alvida Naa

Kehna".

"Currently we are in the process of putting together Akshay Kumar's

official website. At this point of time we are not in a position to

divulge more information," said Merchant, who is also developing a

website for Aamir Khan.

Talking about Akshay's popularity among NRIs, a distributor said:

"You can publish a phone directory with just his name and it would be a

bestseller. He is the new superstar with the Midas touch at the box-

office."

Sources say the site will be a huge hit among his fans because it

will have everything they want to know about him.

Akshay's website will also encompass an action game that would be in

synergy with his action hero image. Apart from that they would be able

to download his pictures and other stuff.

The site will also provide exclusive information, which his fans

will not find anywhere else. The overall look and feel of the website

will be stylish in order to suit Akshay's onscreen persona.

Very few know that Akshay is quite a net and gizmo freak. His

favourite possession right now is his latest acquisition I-pod NANO and

a very high-tech laptop.

In fact, Akshay is always online with his friends when he is

shooting abroad. He has a secret email address, which is accessible

only to his close friends.

At present Akshay is in London shooting for "Bhagam Bhaag" and

"Namaste London".
