Mumbai, July 27 -- RMadhavan, who has been a part of Bollywood films like Rang De Basanti (2006), Guru (2007) and 3 Idiots (2009), is now making his way to Hollywood. The actor has been roped in by filmmaker Simon West, who is known for directing movies like Con Air (1997), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and The Expendables 2 (2012), for his next venture, titled Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D.
Madhavan, who is impressed with Simon's work, feels honoured at being given the chance to work with the filmmaker. "It's a great introduction to American cinema. He's made and continues to make some of the most exciting films in Hollywood. I am honoured to be working with him. I am also thrilled to be in this 3D re-imagining of the cult-classic, Night of The Living Dead," says Madhavan.
Co-producer Paresh Ghelani is all praises for Madhavan and believes that it is an incredible opportunity. "It's great to help introduce American audiences to what Bollywood films have known for years. Madhavan is a dynamic talent," says Ghelani.
Simon is looking orward to exploring the zombie genre in a new style. The story revolves around a group of survivors fighting to stay alive when a mysterious plague unleashes the undead on New York City. "This movie represents a whole new way of visualising the classic zombie genre. It has a fresh and exciting style that sets it apart from all other horror films seen up until now," says Simon.
