Storyline: This modern-day Romeo and Juliet love story is set in Varanasi, and that’s more or less all anyone needs to know. For those who must know more — there’s a young girl and a young boy, who fight all odds for their undying love for each other.

Manish Tiwary (last directed Dil Dosti Etc; in 2007) Starring Imaad Shah and Shreyas Talpade, the multi-starrer was produced by Prakash Jha. It received some good reviews. However, it didn’t leave a very lasting impact on the audience’s minds.

The title track Issaq tera and the song, Aag Ka Dariya, have received special mention in positive reviews; others haven’t been impressed with the soundtrack.

Since the film is set in Varanasi, the makers appointed some paan wallahs at two city multiplexes, to give the audiences a glimpse of the authentic north Indian creation. On the flipside, if the owners find excess paan stains around their premises, at least they’ll know who to blame.

The makers attempted to have the film screened at the Taj Mahal, unfortunately they were denied permission, so they are organising a show that will be held
at a theatre near the heritage site.

Our assessment
The indomitable spirit, Prateik, is back! This time, he’s cast opposite a newcomer, who only smiles coyly in the promos that do nothing to entice you. To top all that, thanks to Prateik’s announcement, we also know how this ends — apparently Romeo and Juliet don’t die in this version. But on the bright side, it only has competition from eight-odd other insignificant releases this weekend.
