Mumbai, July 19 -- Shah Rukh Khan's much-awaited next film, Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express (CE), which also stars Deepika Padukone, was initially set for an Eid release on August 8. The actor, who had blocked the auspicious slot amidst much sparring with other filmmakers, now seems to have pushed his film by a day. Since Eid is on August 9 this year, the film's team has decided to postpone the release to that date.
A source close to the production house reveals, "As Eid is now on August 9, which is a Friday, the makers have changed the day of the release. They were certain that come what may, the film will release on the day of the festival. Moreover, it is also a holiday, which makes it better, giving the movie a long weekend."
