Mumbai never ceases to inspire Bollywood. After Anurag Kashyap (currently working on a period drama trilogy set in the city, titled Bombay Velvet), now Sanjay Gupta is set to direct a film called Mumbai Saga. This film will also be part of a trilogy.
Set in the ’80s and ’90s, the movie will revolve around the nexus between the police, the underworld, politicians and mill owners. “It will recreate the crime scene around the advent of Hindu gangs (after Dawood Ibrahim left India). It was then that everyone was eyeing the lucrative mill properties,” informs an insider.
Sanjay plans to cast the actors from his last release, Shootout At Wadala (SAW), in this film too. So John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Manoj Bajpayee and Tusshar Kap
