Ranveer Singh will be seen next in Lootera. His favourite genre is action, but Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh said he is ready to take up the challenge of doing a biopic.
"I am looking forward to do a biopic. I think it would be very exciting to transform into a person who has lived a full life...whose life has been closely chronicled. As an actor, I think it's a great challenge, and I am feel am upto it," Ranveer said here while promoting his forthcoming movie Lootera.
The actor, who has been seen in films like Band Baaja Baaraat and Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, will next be seen in Lootera, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. The film stars Ranveer opposite Sonakshi Sinha.
Ranveer confessed he has been considering superhero-based film scripts as well. "I would absolutely love to do a superhero film. I am looking forward to doing a superhero film. I think action is my favourite genre and I thoroughly enjoy it. I am a great fan of superheroes myself," he said.
"It would be a very good experience for me to play a superhero. There have been couple of superhero films that have come my way. They have not worked out because they are not the right ones," added the 27-year-old.
Ranveer Singh, who has interesting films like Lootera and Ram Leela lined up for release, says an actor can survive in the industry only because of his versatility and acting abilities and not on persona.
"I am happy that I am able to make a mark. I want to continue doing good work. It is about delivering and being consistent and taking steps forward, showing versatility and variety in what you do," Ranveer said in an interview. "I think that only one who is an all rounder, a good actor and delivers good performance can last. Gone are that days of surviving on persona, I think versatility and acting prowess contribute to the longevity in acting career in modern climate of Indian cinema," he added.
Ranveer, 27, made his debut with 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in 2010 where he played a wedding planner. Next year, he was seen in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, where he duped girls.
Ranveer's next releases are Lootera, a period romance drama opposite Sonakshi Sinha (releasing on July 5). Next in the pipeline is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much awaited 'Ram Leela', which is said to be an adaptation of Shakespeare's epic love story Romeo and Juliet, set in violent times (releasing in November).
He will also be seen in Gunday, where he plays a thief alongwith Arjun Kapoor (releasing in February 2014). Though Ranveer is just two films old, but he has a strong fan following. "I made a strong start and I knew that was important. I knew I would not get chances as I am not from the industry. I knew I had to make an impression. It was like do or die situation. I had to make a good first impression and I managed to do it," he said.
