Mumbai, June 22 -- Filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's next, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB), which is based on the life of iconic sprinter Milkha Singh, has already created a buzz after the launch of its trailer and music videos. And now, we've learnt that recently the athlete requested the makers to show him the film prior to it going to the Censor Board for certification.
A source close to the movie's team reveals, "Milkha Singh was cooperative enough to share his ideas, thoughts and experiences with the director (Rakeysh) from his life. So the director wanted to do something for him in return. Rakeysh planned a special screening of BMB for Singh and his entire family in Delhi."
The screening of the movie was done before it went to the Censor Board so that Singh could watch the original version of the director's work. The source says, "Since the film is very close to Singh's heart, he didn't want to miss out on anything. He wanted to see it just the way it was originally made." The source adds that the runner was teary-eyed as he relived every moment of his life through the film.
When contacted, the official spokesperson of the movie confirms his development saying, "We had a special screening in Delhi. It was almost like a red carpet with Milkha Singh and his entire family in attendance." A few days ago, the athlete had also launched the trailer of the film.
