Mumbai, June 13 -- Kartik Tiwari, who is only two films old, is playing the lead role in Subhash Ghai's next, Kaanchi. But apart from acting in the film, we've learned that he's also working as a clap boy for the director. So when the rest of the cast, including Mithun Chakraborty and Rishi Kapoor are shooting their scenes, Kartik assists Ghai on the sets.
Ghai confirms saying, "These young artistes are eager to achieve stardom. Mithun and Rishi were stars for 25-30 years, so now Kartik is assisting me." He adds that this way, Kartik ensures that he's more involved with the film and learns about the working methods of his seniors. "He wants to be around as a clap boy so that he can watch Mithun and Rishi at work. This is a good way for young actors to learn from their successful seniors," says the director.
Kaanchi is based on the love story of a young girl from the northern mountains, who fights against powerful men in the area. Newcomer Mishti plays the lead role in the film. Mithun has been cast as a shrewd politician, while Rishi essays a negative character.
