Mumbai, May 28 -- Prateik seems to be playing it safe these days. The actor's last two films - My Friend Pinto (2011) and Ekk Deewana Tha (2012) - failed to create a stir at the box office.
And now, to make sure he's heading in the right direction, Prateik is reaching out to the best in the industry for professional advice. He wants his mentors - Aamir Khan (co-producer of Prateik's debut film, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na; 2008) and Kiran Rao (director of Dhobi Ghat, 2011, a film that Prateik acted in) - to be the first to watch the promo of his next release, Issaq.
"Aamir and Kiran have guided me. They have made me believe in myself," says Prateik, adding, "They have held my hand through my first few movies. I would like them to see the trailer and the film, so that they can continue being my good luck charms. This project is close to my heart. Their presence will mean a great deal to me." Produced by Shailesh R Singh and Dhaval Gada, and directed by Manish Tiwary, the film is an adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy, Romeo And Juliet, set in Benares.
A source says, "After the lull in his career, Issaq is important for Prateik. He wants a fresh start and their feedback will mean a lot. He's asked the makers to give him a copy of the trailer, which he will show to them. He also plans to screen the film for them, hoping Aamir's inputs will eventually help his career."
