Mumbai, May 4 -- It is a well-known fact that Aamir Khan gives his inputs on every aspect of a film he works in, home production or not. And Saif Ali Khan seems to be taking notes from him. Though he has handpicked actors for his home productions, like Agent Vinod (2012) and the upcoming Go Goa Gone, he has now gone the extra mile and given his inputs on who should be cast in Tigmanshu Dhulia's Bullet Raja.
The actor has supposedly recommended Gulshan Grover for the villain's role. Gulshan, who feels that villains have lost their ground in Bollywood lately, is elated to revisit his area of expertise. "Saif is a major reason for me playing a baddie in this film. I am happy that he is trying to bring back villainy on the big screen," says Gulshan.
He adds that he is sure that the audience and industry are up for bringing back the bad guy on the big screen. "All three - Tigmanshu, Saif and Rahul (producer Rahul Mittra) - saw how audiences have been starved for a specialised villain for years," says the actor.
However, ask producer Rahul if Saif took an interest in the casting, and he says, "I generally don't allow my actors to take a call on casting. Gulshan is a dear friend and we wanted him to play the villain." The film is set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh-based mafia and also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Vidyut Jamwal.
