Mumbai, April 23 -- Filmmaker Karan Johar, who will soon head to the 66th Cannes Film Festival to represent the short film collective Bombay Talkies at the global event, is very excited. Apparently, the director producer has taken it upon himself to ensure that his other three co-directors on the project - Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Kashyap and Zoya Akhtar - look their best on the red carpet.
We've been informed that Karan has volunteered to help with the designing of their suits and bandhgalas and also oversee Zoya's styling. A source reveals, "Karan will call his fashion designer friends and discuss Dibakar, Anurag and Zoya's looks for their red-carpet appearances with them."
Bombay Talkies is a compilation of four short films - which have been directed by Karan, Dibakar, Anurag and Zoya - that together marks the centenary of Indian cinema. The film, which has been produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Flying Unicorn Entertainment, will be screened at the festival on May 19. The Cannes Film Festival starts on May 15 and ends on May 26.
Karan says, "I'm extremely honoured that our endeavour has been officially selected at Cannes. I can't wait to walk the red carpet with Dibakar, Anurag and Zoya. I'd love to get them dressed for Cannes." Bombay Talkies is set to release in India on May 3.
