Mumbai, March 29 -- Ajay Devgn's film Himmatwala, which is all set to hit theatres today, will be the biggest release of his career by far. The release of this Sajid Khan directorial venture on 3,200 screens in India, is an exciting experience for the actor as he feels that it will help him reach out to a wider fan base.
"I am extremely positive about the film and the buzz that it has managed to create so far. Now this wide release will only boost the film's chances . This will give an opportunity to my audiences to come and watch my film. I hope they love our version of Himmatwala," says Ajay.
However, Ajay's last films were not far behind in the number of theatres in which they released. Bol Bachchan (2012) released in 2,700 screens, Singham (2011) in 2,400 and Son of Sardaar (2012) in 2,300 screens, throughout the country. Director Sajid Khan who had helmed the successful Housefull franchise (2010, 2012) shares the same sentiment about his next.
"Ajay has a great fan base and we are very excited with the reactions among his fans. The plans are to get the film to as many theatres as possible and to know that it's going this wide is exciting as the film will be watched by that many more people," says Sajid.
The film, which is Sajid's adaptation of the 1983 hit of the same name which starred Jeetendra and Sridevi in lead roles, has south actor Tamannah playing the lead opposite Ajay.
