Bombay Talkies' first trailer out at last

By HT

The first trailer of Bombay Talkies, a movie made up of four short films, which celebrates 100 years of Indian cinema, has been released on Youtube.

The film is a combination of four short films made by Bollywood's renowned directors, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee.

Karan Johar's film stars Rani Mukerji, Randeep Hooda and Saqib Saleem and sees Rani playing a sexually repressed housewife as well as a journalist.

Dibakar Banerjee's film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sadashiv Amrapukar and it explores an emotional father-son relationship. The film has been adapted from Satyajit Ray's film Star and has a Marathi flavour to it.

Zoya Akhtar's film stars Ranvir Shorey, Katrina Kaif and a little kid. Apparently, the short film sees Kaif playing herself, as a stylish diva.

Anurag Kashyap's short film deals with a die-hard Bachchan fan who travels all the way from Allahabad to Mumbai to fulfill his dying mother's last wish of feeding the superstar home-made murabba (sweet pickle). This is the first time an actual shoot would take place inside Big B's iconic bungalow. Interestingly, the film stars Big B himself too.

It was earlier rumoured that Ranbir Kapoor would play 'Sutradhaar', a narrator in the film and string the stories together, however, now it seems the actor is too busy with his other films.
