Mumbai, March 16 -- Farhan Akhtar just lost a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform alongside cult rock band Deep Purple. The actor-filmmaker-singer was supposed to sing with the band at a gig in Kathmandu yesterday (March 15) was their stage collaboration was called off at the eleventh hour.
According to reports in Nepali media, the entire performance has been pushed to April. "Farhan was supposed to fly down to Kathmandu yesterday. He was very excited about the performance. But because of severe socio-political unrest there, the organisers found it wise to postpone the event" reveals a source close to Farhan.
The filmmaker, who proved his mettle as a singer in Rock On!! (2008) and even performed a few gig a few years ago, was looking forward to getting back on stage. Although it isn't clear whether Farhan will perform with Deep Purple at the postponed gig, his spokesperson confirms he will be doing so.
"Farhan will indeed be performing with Deep Purple, however due to some fluctuations; the concert has been pushed ahead."
