Having made a successful comeback after 15 years with English Vinglish last year, veteran actor Sridevi, 49, seems to be enjoying the new phase of her career. The actor says she will now take up only those roles that go well with her image. “I don’t want to take up anything that will make
me uncomfortable,” said Sridevi, who was recently in the Capital as the brand ambassador of Fiona Digital RO water purifier.
Talking about two of her songs Naino Me Sapna and Tathaiya from the 1983 film Himmatwala that are being recreated in the remake, she said, “It’s great fun to watch these numbers.”
On being a fashionista:
Though I pay attention to what I wear, I’ve to take approval from my husband and daughters before stepping out of the house.
On doing a TV show:
I don’t believe in planning. If something I’m comfortable with comes my way, I will take it up.
Acting with Anil again:
Why not! If a script suits both Anil (Kapoor) and me, I would like to work with him again. He is a great actor.
Her Delhi memories:
I love coming to Delhi for shopping. I used to visit Khan Chacha in Khan Market for chicken tikka rolls long ago.
On how the industry has changed:
The industry has become more organised. I’m getting used to the way films are promoted today. They’ve become lavish.
