Say Bollywood film, and the next thing that comes to mind is Who’s the hero? But, what’s interesting is that producer Ekta Kapoor has decided to focus on the anti-hero and called her project, Villain, which will be directed by Mohit Suri.
Yes, Mohit and Ekta have tentatively titled their film Villain. Ekta is trying to buy the rights to the title since it belongs to someone else as of now. But knowing her influence in the industry, she will surely manage to get it,” says a trade insider.
Ekta and Mohit are currently looking a new face to fit the role of an angry young man. “Anti-heroes have always taken actors to the next level. So be it Kajol Khan in Ghajini (2005), Sanjay Dutt in Khalnayak (1993) or Shah Rukh Khan in Darr (1993), gray shades in leading men have always been lapped up by the audiences.
For my film too, I am looking at a young Amitabh Bachchan,” says Ekta.
