Shahana Goswami, the 26-year-old actor who debuted with Rock On in 2008, says she will only take up leading roles from now on.
“I have changed my course of action. I have done small parts and gained a lot of experience from them. But, now I’ve decided to move out of playing small parts,” she says. Her latest film, Midnight’s Children, released yesterday. Talking about working with Deepa Mehta, director of the film, Goswami says, “I felt an instant connection with Deepa. She was completely immersed in the film. I had a great time working with her.” Though based in Mumbai now, Shahana grew up in Delhi and often visits the city to be with her family.
“Places such as the Hauz Khas market, Khan market or my school make me nostalgic,” she reminisces.
