After nearly two years and many changes, director Sudhir Mishra is finally making his long-stalled film, earlier titled Dhruv. Balaji Motion Pictures and Excel Entertainment have come together to produce the film, which the director will start work on after he completes his upcoming film Mehrunissa. “I will be working on the film after Mehrunissa. I am almost ready with a fresh script,” says Sudhir.
Giving a sneak preview of the story, he says, “It’s a political film, where a man and woman are on the opposite sides of the political spectrum. The characters are on either sides of a power struggle,” says Sudhir.
Earlier, Sudhir was reportedly supposed to make the film with actors Farhan Akhtar, Chitrangda Singh and Kareena Kapoor in the lead. “I am still going to do it with Farhan’s company, if not with him in the movie. As of now, we have changed the script and we will figure out who fits into this new script,” he says.
Sudhir hasn’t decided the final title of the film yet and hasn’t begun casting anyone for it as he is fully immersed in the pre-production on Mehrunissa. “Mehrunissa is my main passion at the moment and I am starting work on it in April,” he says.
Reportedly, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor have been signed for Mehrunissa and Chitrangda is supposedly going to play the title role. However, the director refrains from divulging any details. “Everything is firming up right now. The details will be announced very soon,” he says.
