Akshay Kumar has sung a romantic ballad, Mujh mein tu, in his heist film titled, Special Chabbis. “He heard the original song and loved it so much that he started humming while we were shooting it. That’s when we decided to get him to sing a mellow version of the same song and use it as a
promotional video,” says director Neeraj Pandey.
In the film, Mujh mein tu has been sung by Keerthi Sagathia and Neeraj feels that the latest version of the song will be a treat for Akshay’s fans. He adds, “He’s not a singer, yet the song has turned out well. It was a little tough to convince Akshay to sing it. But he rehearsed for five months before he recorded it. He was dedicated and I am sure Akshay will surprise everyone with his rendition.”
Actor-producer Akshay Kumar has added one more feather to his cap by singing a song in his next film Special Chabbis and says he wants to dedicate the song to his wife Twinkle Khanna. "I would want to dedicate this song to my wife Twinkle Khanna and tomorrow (Thursday), it`s also our wedding anniversary and Valentine`s Day is also coming," Akshay told reporters at the film`s music launch here.
"I rehearsed for three hours before recording. However, the song will not be used in the film. I did it just as a passion," he said. MM Kreem has composed the music for ‘Special Chabbis’.
Akshay sung the song, Mujme tu..., at the launch. When asked about his film, Akshay said: "I can`t reveal much. There are lots of twists and turns so if I talk much, you will miss the fun."
The film had an unusual music launch at Regal Cinema-- a prime spot for film premieres in the 1980s. Actor Anupam Kher, who was also present, said: "I`m glad the music launch happened at Regal. In the 1980s, we used to have all our premieres here." Akshay Kumar said he reinvented himself for the film, directed by Neeraj Pandey.
Special Chabbis releases February 8.
