Actor Jacqueline Fernandez will be sharing screen space with a big star cast in her next release Race 2. The actor, however, remains unfazed about being overshadowed by senior actors like Anil Kapoor, and the more popular Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham. She readily admits that she knows Deepika Padukone is a bigger star than herself.
“Even Asin was the bigger star in Housefull 2, but we got along well. Similarly, I got to learn a lot from Deepika on the sets, she is extremely focussed,” says Jacqueline. The actor adds, “I think if you are the smaller star, you already know the bigger star will get the bigger role. It’s important that you know that and don’t come to the sets thinking that you are this huge star. You will ruin it for yourself.”
Jacqueline respects actors who have made a name for themselves in the industry and believes that people who are starting out can benefit from doing films with them. “You want your movie to do well, and they have a larger fan base who will watch your film,” she says.
The actor plays the role of a con artist in Race 2, and has got herself a new look for the film. “I have a fringe with poker-straight hair, which gives me a youthful grunge-like look. I had to work out a lot, as my character is supposed to look physically strong,” she says.
Jacqueline has shied away from talking about beau Sajid Khan, but the buzz is that she’s doing a cameo in his next film Himmatwala. “I’m not hiding anything but I’m not comfortable talking about my personal life. And no, I don’t know why everyone is asking me about the cameo,” she says.
