Last week’s releases —Chakravyuh, Ajab Gazabb Love and Rush – have failed at the box-office, making it a second consecutive week without a hit Bollywood film at theatres.
Talking about the releases, film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi says, “Chakravyuh is an interesting film, but it has a very limited appeal. It has drawn appreciation from various quarters, but unfortunately, it lacks the power to draw in movie goers into cinema halls. It has been a disappointing weekend with all of the three new releases failing to make a mark at the BO.”
Chakravyuh, in spite of having had a three-day head start (it released on a Wednesday), still did not manage to get the figures it ideally should have. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh informs us that Chakravyuh made Rs. 1.65 crore and Rs. 2.50 crore on Friday and Saturday respectively. The movie’s total collection over the weekend has been Rs. 9.40 crore nett.
Ajab Gazabb Love: Friday: Rs. 1.25 crore; Saturday: Rs. 1.40 crore. Total: Rs. 2.65crore nett.
Rush: Friday Rs. 60 lakh, Saturday Rs. 70 lakh. Total: Rs. 1.30 crore nett.
