Here’s an interesting bit of information for all you movie buffs — actor Sanjay Dutt has been roped in for the film, Zanjeer, which will release next year. And while Dutt shoots for his character, Sher Khan, in the film’s Hindi version, muscled actor Sonu Sood has been got on board to play the
part in the Telugu version of the film, which is being shot simultaneously.
In the 1973 original, Sher Khan’s role was essayed by veteran actor Pran. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, too, starred in the film, directed by Prakash Mehra.
The Hindi remake — being directed by Apoorva Lakhia — will also star South star Ram Charan Teja and Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra in the lead, playing the role of Vijay and Mala, respectively.
Meanwhile, producer Amit Mehra says that the remake will have a promotional song with Chopra and Teja in it. “Yes, we have a promotional song in the film which will be shot in January 2013. But it won’t be a mix of any songs from the original version. It will be a fresh song,” he says.
