MUMBAI, Oct. 25 -- The news that Amitabh Bachchan is set to play Anna Hazare in Prakash Jha's next, Satyagraha, has been doing the rounds for some time now. However, there has been much speculation over his character's look in the film, which is jointly produced by Prakash Jha and UTV Motion Pictures.
Now a source reveals that a meeting is set to take place over the weekend between Amitabh and Prakash to discuss Big B's role. The source says, "Prakash and Amitji will have a discussion on the role. They were supposed to meet and have this discussion, but there may be a few changes. They could do this on the phone. But either way, the discussion will happen."
And what exactly will the two talk about? The source says, "The role is heavily inspired by social activist Anna Hazare. Amitabh plays a man who is fighting corruption. At this meeting, the two will discuss the physical appearance of the character. They are yet to finalise whether they will go ahead with the way Anna dresses in real life - in a white kurta-pyjama, with a white topi (cap) and a beard (while he was fasting at the Ram Leela maidan last year). They want to figure out if they should keep it close to reality or not."
The worry about keeping the look real is that though everyone is well aware of Amitabh's portrayal of Anna, there could be trouble if he looks exactly like him. But will Amitabh part with his beard for this role? The source says, "He parted with his French beard and opted for a full-grown one for Aarakshan (2010). So there are chances he could do the same thing for this movie too." We tried to call Prakash Jha, but he was unavailable for a comment.
