MUMBAI, Oct. 22 -- It's a requisite for an actor's costumes to look culturally authentic in a film. The responsibility of sourcing costumes, however, is the stylist's. But Deepika Padukone, who plays a Gujarati girl in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, tentatively titled Ram Leela, has taken matters into her own hands.
She took off on a secret shopping expedition to get outfits for the film. A source says, "Deepika went shopping during Navratri because in the festive season, there's more variety of traditional outfits readily available in stores. As she plays a Gujarati girl, she would need ghagra cholis and oxidised jewellery for certain parts of the film. She has been roaming the Mumbai markets and quaint shops, especially in Vile Parle and Irla. Her stylist for the film, Anju Modi,
