From cricket to cricket commentary and laughter shows to politics, Amritsar MP and BJP national secretary Navjot Singh Sidhu has come a long way. Charting a new course, the firebrand leader is now all set to make his presence felt in Bigg Boss, a reality show on TV.
Even last year, speculation was rife about Sidhu's participation in the popular show, but this time it is almost certain that Sidhu will be appearing in Big Boss Season 6 that starts from October 7.
Sources said Sidhu would be charging a hefty sum of Rs. 3-4 crore from the organisers. But it is learnt that he would have to restrict his participation in the show to a few days as the BJP would be requiring his services as a "star campaigner" in the run-up to the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.
Even in the last season of Bigg Boss, Sidhu had got a big offer, but he had declined it citing his political preoccupations.
Insiders said that excited about his new role on TV, Sidhu had especially got Pathani suits and tracksuits designed with the TV show in mind.
While Sidhu was not available for comments, his family members said, "Television is his profession and politics his mission."
Sidhu will be the third former cricketer after Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds and Indian batsman Vinod Kambli to participate in Bigg Boss.
