If all goes well, Amitabh Bachchan will play a Pakistani national in Oscar winner sound designer Resul Pookutty's directorial debut. Pookutty confirms that he has approached Bachchan for the role, reports Mumbai Mirror.
“I have approached Mr Bachchan for the film that I want to direct. The character is from another country. But it is not a political film. It’s an extremely humane subject that touches the lives of people on both sides of the border,” Pookutty told the tabloid.
Pookutty who bagged an Academy award for Best Sound Mixing says that his old classmate Amitabh Singh approached him with the script of the movie.
"I was completely blown away. I had to direct this film, and direct it with Mr Bachchan in the lead," Pookutty was quoted by the tabloid.
Meanwhile Big B would be back with the fresh season of Kaun Banega Crorepati on September 7.
He has also recorded a special song for the sixth season of the show and says he had butterflies in his stomach while recording with Bollywood composer duo Salim-Sulaiman.
The 69-year-old actor said that the mock rehearsals for KBC has began as the show is ready to go on air from September 7.
"The crowning glory is the session at Salim-Sulaiman's recording studio later at night to record a song for KBC, and my extreme hesitation in doing so for it is a moment filled with immense self consciousness," Bachchan had posted on his blog.
