Finally, clash averted for Shootout At Wadala

By Hindustan Times

Producer Ekta Kapoor wants the 'best possible release' for Shootout At Wadala (SAW). “When I watched the rushes, I realised that it’s a very powerful film. There’s no point clashing with another biggie that features the same actors. I want a clear five-day weekend for SAW,” she reasons. “If both films release so close to each other, the audience will end up getting confused.”

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta informs that Anil (Kapoor) and John (Abraham) checked with him if there could be a two-week gap between SAW and Race 2. “We have now decided that since May 1 is close to the theme of our film, we should go for a Maharashtra Day/ Labour Day release. Manya Surve, my protagonist is a Maharashtrian and comes from a work-oriented middle-class family,” says Sanjay.

Ekta adds that she wants to promote the film with on-ground marketing and outdoor events for 50 days. “The four-month lag will give me more time. SAW is going to be my massiest film to date and I plan to hype it to the hilt,” says the producer.
