American chat show queen Oprah Winfrey spent time with Mumbai’s slum-dwelling families, a picture from the shoot of her new show has revealed.
In one of the episodes, she accompanies Australian author Gregory David Roberts of bestselling novel Shantaram, to make a trip to the slums and to meet a family of five members living on a meagre salary in 10X10 room.
Oprah Winfrey shoots with the Hegde family in their 10x10 room in the slums of Colaba in Mumbai. She also bites into a traditional thali in the Discovery Channel show, titled Oprah’s Next Chapter. “I specifically wanted to experience India. The paradox of India. The highs and the lows and the beauty and the sorrow in between and that is exactly what I did,” says Winfrey.
