Looks like the overwhelming response to Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani has impelled its director Sujoy Ghosh to make its sequel. On Tuesday, Ghosh changed the display picture of his Twitter handle to the Kahaani poster, and then wrote, “Writing begins. I have no idea how Balan is going to pull this off.
But mine is not to question how, mine is but to write right now.” Ghosh, who is currently in UK, later added, “I’m told, just now, that Kahaani completes 75 days today :) good day to start writing for the Balan. she will be back (sic).”
A source close to Ghosh reveals that he has in fact started working on the script: “Yes, he has started penning the script for the sequel, which will again see Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.”
The 46-year-old filmmaker had in the past mentioned his wish to make a sequel to the Kolkata-based thriller. “What Vidya Bagchi does with her life after my Kahaani, haunts me,” he was quoted as saying at an event in Kolkata after the release of the original.
