Daniel, James Bond Craig might not have managed to shoot the 23rd Bond installment, Skyfall, in India due to permission issues last year, but if all goes well, the British actor will be coming to the country to promote his third outing as 007, in the last week of October this year.
“Talks are going on regarding his visit. He may visit India for Skyfall but in all likelihood it’ll just be him and no one else from the team,” confirmed a source from the production unit.
Asked if his visit will also include a mandatory Taj Mahal tour just the way it is for other Hollywood stars who visit India, the source says, “No. He’s not likely to. There won’t really be any time for such sightseeing as it’ll be a very tight schedule whenever it happens.”
Bond fans can also rejoice as just like Craig’s last outing as the elusive spy — Quantum of Solace, Skyfall will also hit Indian screens a week before it does in the US.
“It is releasing in India on November 2, a week before the US where it releases on November 9,” said a spokesperson from Sony Pictures India, the distributors of the flick here.
Helmed by Oscar-award winning director Sam Mendes, the flick stars Javier Bardem as the antagonist. While Dame Judi Dench reprises her role as Bond’s boss M, Ralph Fiennes too joins the cast along with three Bond girls — Naomie Harris, Bérénice Marlohe and Tonia Sotiropoulou.
