Summer songs to get you going!

By Hindustan Times

This summer, it’s all about beating the heat with some unique hits from Bollywood. While some songs have music directors getting behind the microphone, others have southern superstars making special appearances. Read on to know the biggest radio hits this summer:

Chinta ta — Rowdy
Rathore
One man is having a golden run, churning out chartbuster after chartbuster in the past two years. Now Mika Singh is back with his latest offering. This one sounds like a deja-vu — a Dhinka-chika part II of sorts, if I may add. What makes it interesting is that the music video features Prabhudheva and Kollywood star Vijay.

Chokra Jawaan Re — Ishaqzaade
Who would have thought that a member of one of India’s leading rock bands, Pentagram, would one day be belting out a typical UP-Bihar rustic number! With this song, Vishal Dadlani seems to have replaced Sukhwinder Singh as the most passionate full-throated playback singer in recent times.

Mukhtasar Mulaaqaat Hai – Teri Meri Kahaani
Last but not the least is a song that was first heard in the trailer of Kunal Kohli’s next, in which Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor go globetrotting and time-travelling across three distinct time zones in the past 100 years! Wajid, from the music duo Sajid Wajid, gets a chance to croon for a dance number that’s already topping the charts.

The song is primarily about the initial chemistry and attraction that brings two people together. However, don’t blame me if it reminds you of the title track of London-Paris-New York or other Atif Aslam hits.

Other summer hits
The radio is abuzz with many other songs that will stick with you. Try these:
* Kumar Sanu makes a comeback with Chammak Chhallo from Rowdy Rathore
* Maara Re — Ferrari Ki Sawari
* O Ri Chiraiya — Satyamev Jayate
* Bharat Mata Ki —Shanghai
