I feel ads give you restricted exposure: Sonali Bendre

By Hindustan Times

Of late, actor Sonali Bendre has been seen judging reality shows on the small screen. Now she will be seen for a few more minutes on the tube, thanks to her recent endorsement with a furniture brand. The actor is the new face for a company, which was earlier endorsed by actors Malaika Arora Khan and Diana Hayden.

And though Sonali has been in many ad campaigns before, she disagrees that commercials are the best way to remain in the public’s memory. “I don’t think so. If I needed visibility, all I had to do is pick up a project as I have offers in TV and films. In fact, I feel ads give you restricted exposure because they are aired at certain times and on certain channels, so there’s no guarantee that you will get noticed. Moreover, after the years of work I’ve put in, I don’t think I need a brand for visibility’s sake.”

Excited about the new brand campaign, Sonali has experimented with various styles for the ad — from a simple look to a one sporting high fashion and even a goth theme. She says, “I’m excited about my look. It’s classic, yet modern and timeless.”

Being a known face on TV now, and earlier on the big screen, Sonali claims she feels lucky to get offers to endorse products quite often. But she also adds that, “I have to be able to connect with the brand in someway or else there is no point in
doing it.”

The furniture brand, Durian, will also feature Swarovski edition sofas. Ask her what her idea of ideal home decor is, she says, “I want my home to reflect us. We like having beautiful things, like art around me. I ensure my home’s not just pretty, but comfortable too. This line is ideal for those looking to add an aesthetic feel at home.”
