It’s official. Shekhar Kapur’s Mr India (1987) that had Anil Kapoor and Sridevi in the lead roles, is going 3D. The conversion will bring back to life scriptwriters Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar’s last work together.
A surprised Boney Kapoor is reluctant to comment, but reveals, “I was going to announce it at least six months later. We start the conversion process only in May, after the work on Spider-Man 4 is complete. The film will be ready for re-release in 2014, before the sequel of Mr India is out.”
The news of Mr India’s conversion comes close on the heels of James Cameron’s Titanic (1997), which was re-released in 3D recently. The film about the maiden voyage of a doomed ship and its passengers hit theatres on April 10 and has grossed
