Mumbai, Dec. 15 -- This could well be good news for those who love to watch wrestling on the tube. Also, those who don't have access to WWE or aren't able to watch it for some reason, can rejoice too. A Hindi reality TV show based on wrestling and titled 100 % De Dhana Dhan, is ready to make a come back on the same channel that aired it the first season.
The broadcaster plans to bring it on air sometime early next year. For now, a bunch of 15-16 wrestlers, auditioned and selected from various parts of north India, are being groomed in the city by diction and acting trainer Vinod Tharani, who has also worked with actor Deepika Padukone in the past.
Currently, these 'desi pehalwans' are being groomed to act, face the camera according to different angles and deliver dialogue. The show is set to go on shoot in Pune from the 18th of this month. When asked, Tharani refused to comment, saying, "I'm not the right person to speak about the show."
Two years ago, the channel had aired the same show with dismal ratings. Dara Singh captained the Indian side and a popular foreign wrestler headed the opponents. The show is likely to bring Dara Singh back on the tube. For now, search is on for a Bollywood actor who can convincingly anchor the show.
